Internship opportunities
London is widely regarded as one of the top financial and
commerce centres in the world.
Though we are headquartered in CanaryWharf, London, Barclays
Wealth gives graduates the opportunity to work with a wide range of
clients from an array of backgrounds across either our UK and
Ireland Private Bank or our International Private Bank.
UK regions -Graduate opportunities
(Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Ipswich,
Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle)
"The UK regional offices provide a rewarding environment in
which to work. The business landscape reflects the broader UK
economy and is complex and fast moving, comprising a range of
industry and service sectors. Successful bankers must have an
excellent connection to the environment around them and be
receptive to change so that they can better empathise with and
serve the local community."
The regional offices work closely with a wide range of business
partners including other parts of the group, such as Barclays
Corporate. In addition, many successful entrepreneurs wish to
deal with advisors who are locally based but have access to such a
global proposition. Consequently, regional bankers have a unique
opportunity to develop their business over a short period of time
and this often plays to their individual strengths. In addition the
regional market can be less transitional than major financial
centres enabling graduates to build relationships with their peers
in local professional firms and develop their own networks.
As a banker you will be supported by senior individuals from
both within the business, and the Advisory Board. This
includes the likes of our Wealth Advisory team and members of the
Barclays Wealth Management Committee. You will quickly become
a valued member of a professional client focused team.
As a graduate within the regional offices, you will be
interfacing with clients at an early stage of your career, in order
to deliver the right solutions to our clients. This will
involve full participation across the range of services on offer
and direct, client facing experience including the preparation and
presentation of pitches to both new and existing clients.
Accordingly, you are likely to be mentored by a
number of the senior bankers and portfolio managers to ensure you
quickly develop the requisite skills and make a valuable
contribution to the business.
